NERC Compliance Provider AlertEnterprise Notches Two Homeland Security Awards
February 07, 2012
NERC compliance provider AlertEnterprise has just revealed that the company has received two awards at the GSN Homeland Security Awards Dinner: the GSN Homeland Security Award for Best Privileged User Management Solution and the GSN Homeland Security Award for Best Logical Physical Security Software Platform. Nice recognitions to receive under any circumstance and with a dinner tossed in, no less.
When it comes to NERC (News - Alert) compliance, for identity and access governance, the company offers modeling capabilities to automate access review and re-certification tasks. Company officials note that access reviews can be “configured for varying schedules with multi-level workflow notification,” and that “entitlement, role and user management tasks are simplified with enterprise and job roles for quick role assignment.”
Additionally, the company was recently featured in the Gartner (News
- Alert) Magic Quadrant Report for Identity and Access Governance. Company officials added that they were also involved in the report through an overall article on their heavy involvement in the IAG/EIAM space.
The company’s compliance offerings were recently summed up by AlertEnterprise officials as being delivered as part of “a complete identity and access management suite that extends beyond IT to include physical access in a layered approach that features core operational IAM, governance and compliance and an easy to use self-service business layer with performance and risk analytics.”
In the near future, AlertEnterprise will be presented with a GRC award from a noted industry thought leader.
Summing up their attitude, company officials recently said they seek to address a common issue with traditional IAM – technical complexity. “The Business-Centric Identity and Access Management suite enhances traditional IAM fulfillment capabilities with built-in Identity and Access Governance.”
In essence what’s needed is an intelligent business layer to provide self-service capabilities, “to automate access requests, enforce policies, ensure compliance and enable delegated administration,” as well as generate roles-based dashboards and reports.
AlertEnterprise is currently slated to attend the Gartner Identity and Access Management event in London in mid-March, which company officials called “huge for our company, because we will be formally announcing our partnership with a big Fortune 500 company.”
