Jerry has extensive project management expertise in utility communications and automation including Smart Grid real-time operation systems for EMS,SCADA, DMS, and Load Management. Jerry holds a BSEE from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

As SVP, Corporate Development & Alliances, at Aviat Networks, Dr. Alok Sharma is responsible for leading corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, as well as the development of key strategic relationships for the company. Prior to joining Aviat, Dr. Sharma was the Founder & CEO of Telsima Corporation, a leading provider of next generation broadband wireless solutions conforming to the WiMAX specifications. Telsima successfully designed, built and operated some of the largest 4G broadband wireless networks at multiple Tier 1 operators in Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe/Russia and Africa. Telsima was acquired by Aviat in February, 2009. Prior to Telsima, Dr. Sharma was the Vice President and General Manager of the Worldwide Cable Business at Juniper Networks. In this capacity, Dr. Sharma successfully established Juniper’s leadership position in global cable markets generating multi-million dollar strategic wins at the leading cable operators in North America, Western Europe and Japan. Before Juniper Networks, Dr. Sharma was the Founder & CEO of Pacific Broadband Communications (PBC) which was acquired by Juniper Networks in December 2001. Prior to PBC, Dr. Sharma held senior management and technical positions at Hewlett Packard, Fujitsu/Amdahl, Integrated Device Technology and Siara Systems (metro routing company acquired by Redback/Ericsson). Dr. Sharma holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee, India and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

KEYNOTE PRESENTATION - "Smart Grid, Demand Response, and Renewables"
Steven C. Oldham is the Chair of USTelecom. He is also president and CEO of SureWest Communications. Oldham joined SureWest’s Board of Directors in January 2004 and was elected chair of the Audit Committee, serving from June 2004 through December 2005.
Immediately prior to joining SureWest, Oldham served as a senior advisor to The Brattle Group, which provides consulting services and expert testimony on economic, finance, regulatory and strategic issues. He previously served 27 years with Sierra Pacific Resources in many capacities including senior vice president for strategic planning and transmission services. He retired in 2002 as the company’s senior vice president, energy services.
Oldham earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1976 from the University of Utah after spending three years in the United States Army Security Agency. Oldham is past president of the Board of Directors of the WARC, an organization providing services to developmentally disabled adults in Northern Nevada.

KEYNOTE PRESENTATION - San Diego’s Smart Grid: Moving from “if” and “when” to “now” and “here’s how.”
Lee Krevat is director of the smart grid initiative for Sempra Energy’s California regulated utilities, San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E), and Southern California Gas Company.
Krevat leads enterprise-wide smart grid strategy, policy and project alignment. He was recently named one of the top 100 movers and shakers who are influencing the smart grid market by GreenTech Media.
SDG&E has built a strong foundation in Smart Grid technologies, including a Smart Meter deployment that will be completed in 2011, self-healing grid technology, automated sub-station condition-based maintenance, advanced outage and distribution management systems, and microgrid projects funded by DOE and CEC. SDG&E was ranked number one in the nation in the first annual 2009 Smart Grid rankings published by IDC Energy Insights and Intelligent Utility magazine.
Krevat’s prior positions at SDG&E include director of program delivery, where he oversaw IT for advanced technology projects and the development of new systems to improve operating efficiency and customer experience. Krevat was also director of IT strategy and business partnership where he worked to align strategic direction between IT and the utility business units, as well as director of infrastructure engineering & operations.
Before joining Sempra, Krevat led the Software Process Engineering, Technology Transfer and Software Process Improvement Teams at Tandem Computers.
Krevat graduated with university honors and holds a Bachelor of Science in applied mathematics/computer science from Carnegie Mellon University.
SDG&E is a regulated public utility that provides service to 3.4 million consumers through 1.4 million electric meters and more than 840,000 natural gas meters in San Diego and southern Orange counties. Southern California Gas Company is the nation’s largest natural gas distribution utility, providing safe and reliable energy to 20.5 million consumers through 5.7 million meters.
