Peter Fentiman, President and CEO of MidNet, said, "Our agreement with TCS Canada represents the formal commercialization of The Middle Network. Our transition from the developmental to the revenue-generating phase of our business is a milestone for MidNet. We are extremely pleased to be taking this step with TCS Canada."
Initially, the private communications circuit will be utilized to deliver daily content associated with the production of a major Hollywood motion picture. As MidNet continues the rollout of its North American network, management anticipates that TCS Canada's Vancouver facility will concurrently expand its use of the network on future projects.
"We have been working closely with TCS Canada to ensure that our network will provide seamless, secure transmission of their daily production content," Fentiman said. "We are very excited about our relationship with TCS Canada, and look forward to helping them streamline their production efforts."
The Middle Network is designed to support the unique workflow requirements of industries needing secure and rapid transport of large and sensitive data files. For example, the motion picture industry relies on private distribution of daily production content for editing or review, transfer of visual effects elements, and real-time collaboration between motion picture executives and their suppliers. These immense data files, which are too large for most Internet connections, have typically required overnight shipment by courier, but can now be transported via The Middle Network.
