Tatung to develop communications handsets products with Microsoft
(China Post Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) Tatung Co., the multi-billion global leading design and manufacturing company, announced that it has signed a license agreement with Microsoft Corp.'s Unified Communication Group. As part of the agreement, Tatung will develop and market worldwide a series of handsets and headsets for enterprise users. A prototype of wireless handset was demonstrated at the Microsoft Unified Communications Group Strategy Day in San Francisco, California on June 26.
In supporting Microsoft's unique vision for unified communications, which puts people at the center of communications -- not the network or device, to create more personal and intuitive communication, Tatung has further expanded its product portfolio to include the handsets and headsets for office workers, and consumers in general. The handsets leveraging leading edge technology have shown such advantages as long battery hours, low material cost, and robust radio linkage.
