Sony Ericsson reports Q2 operating loss of EUR2m

Swedish-Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson reported on Friday
(18 July) an operating loss of EUR2m for the second quarter 2008, down
from the profit of EUR315m a year ago.
Sales in the three-month period decreased to EUR2,820m from EUR3,112m a
year ago.
Number of shipped mobile units decreased to 24.4m, as compared to 24.9m
in the second quarter 2007.
Sony Ericsson, headquartered in London, is a 50/50 joint venture of
Sony Corporation (NYSE: SNE) and Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson
(NASDAQ: ERIC) (OMX Stockholm: ERIC A) (OMX Stockholm: ERIC B). The
company reported sales of EUR12.92bn in 2007.
One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 1.27 euros (EUR).
