Oct 06, 2009 (The Arizona Daily Star - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
A statewide technology recycling day will be hosted Saturday, Oct. 10, by the Arizona Technology Council.
From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. that day, the council will collect used or unwanted computers or electronic equipment to recycle and refurbish at major drop-off locations in the Tucson and Phoenix areas, or any Data Doctors location in Arizona.
In Tucson, the drop-off locations are:
--Texas Instruments, 5411 E. Williams Blvd.
--ITT Technical Institute, 1455 W. River Road (West of La Canada, on the south side of River Road).
--Three Cartridge World locations: 9431 E. 22nd St. No. 147; 4592 E. Broadway Blvd; and 7292 N. Oracle Road.
The electronic equipment and components acceptable for drop-off include personal computers, main frames, servers, point-of-sale, printing, audio/visual and telecom devices, surplus metals, wire and cable, ballasts, batteries and power strips. Miscellaneous electronic items such as test and/or lab equipment are also acceptable.
A portion of the donated equipment will be handled through the Tech Terra Recycling or Reuse Alliance of the Arizona Technology Council, and Westech Recyclers, which supports educational programs and donates refurbished equipment to community facilities.
