ROAM and PYMNTS.com Publish the First Update to Mobile Point of Sale Ecosystem: MPOS TRACKER

The MPOS Tracker, designed to offer an organizing framework for evaluating the many players that have enter the MPOS sector, has added 11 new players to the MPOS Pyramid and provides new insight into the range of players and services entering the space. The MPOS Tracker will continue to be updated monthly to reflect those who have entered this space and updates for those who have been profiled in prior versions.

This month's report adds 8 players to the MPOS Pyramid™ and 3 "powered by" suppliers. New merchant facing organizations include: COPNI Wave, GlobalBay, LightSpeed, Mobile Pay on Demand, MSwipe, O_2, Pentagon, Retail Cloud, and SumUp. The "powered by" suppliers include CreditCall, SwiffPay and Pentagon.

Of the original 16 players (Ezetap, Groupon, GoPago, Intuit (News - Alert), iZettle, mPowa, NCR Silver, PayAnywhere, Payleven, Paypal Here, Sage, Shopkeep, Square, Vantiv, VeriFone Sail and Visalus), six profiles were updated. (Groupon, iZettle, NCR Silver, PayLeven, Shopkeep, Square). One "powered by" supplier was updated, ROAM.

In a podcast with Karen Webster, CEO of Market Platform Dynamics (News - Alert), Ken Paull CEO at ROAM discussed some of the most relevant changes in the MPOS landscape in the past month. According to Paull, there is a spike in both consumer and merchant demand in the market and many new players are jumping in to meet this demand. "Part of this trend is the fact that this echnology is making it easier for new players to adapt their programs and go after their customers.
