Alliant International University Makes "Best For Vets" 2013 List At Military Times EDGE

Alliant International University was once again designated as a "Best for Vets" school by Military Times EDGE (MTE) magazine for the third year in a row. Ranked number six among non-traditional colleges (defined as those which operate across a network of small campuses), Alliant was also the only school in California, among non-traditional schools, to be selected for the Military Times "Best for Vets" 2013 College list.

Some 650 schools - more than ever before - participated in the 2013 Military Times EDGE (MTE) survey. A total of 111 schools were ranked across different categories: 4-year, 2-year and online and non-traditional. School rankings were based on financial assistance, academic flexibility, campus culture and support services that help veterans make the transition from military to college life.

This "Best for Vets" award closely follows Alliant's recognitin on GI Jobs Magazine's 2013 list of "Military Friendly Schools," representing the top fifteen percent of undergraduate and graduate schools doing the most to embrace America's military service members and veterans as students.

"What's most striking about Alliant's commitment to veteran and military students is the welcoming and supportive environment created by our staff, faculty and students," says Dr. Russ Newman, provost and vice president for academic affairs. "Our Director of Military and Veteran Affairs, Tina Moncada (USAF Veteran), clearly understands the unique needs of these students and has worked hard to assure that others at the University understand as well," he added.
