BRIEF: Oxnard's CalAmp will provide wireless electric meter network in New Hampshire

Jan 09, 2013 (Ventura County Star - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- CalAmp Corp. in Oxnard says its electricity metering network will serve 83,000 users in New Hampshire under a new contract with the New Hampshire Electric Cooperative utility.

The utility serves 115 municipalities across nine of New Hampshire's 10 counties and more than 5,500 miles.

CalAmp's "smart meter" wireless communications base stations and remote devices will enable more secure, accurate and timely readings, the company said, and improve efficiency for the member-owned and -controlled cooperative.

The extended range and coverage of CalAmp's Viper SC system should reduce the utility's costs and increase its data speeds, according to CalAmp.
