Prominent Energy and Environmental Law Partner Joins Marten Law's Growing Portland Office
PORTLAND, Ore. --(Business Wire)--
Prominent Portland lawyer Richard Allan has joined Marten Law, expanding
its energy and environmental law practice. Allan, formerly a partner
with Ball Janik LLP, has more than 20 years of experience representing
utilities, developers and other Northwest businesses with their
environmental, land use and natural resource issues. Marten Law, whose
Portland office has expanded rapidly in the last three years, is the
largest environmental and energy firm in the West, with offices in
Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco.
"Richard is widely viewed as one of the top environmental and energy
lawyers in Oregon and we're very pleased to have him join us," said
Michael Dotten, Managing Partner of Marten Law's Portland Office. "The
firm represents natural gas and wind producers throughout the West, and
other clients on significant electric power, oil and natural gas
transmission matters. With Richard coming on board, we will be able to
provide greater service to our utility and independent power producer
clients, as well as other industrial developers."
Allan is experienced in the acquisition, siting, expansion and operation
of power, manufacturing and real estate projects. His experience in
adversarial proceedings ranges from numerous local land use hearings and
appeals, to adminisrative contested cases before state agencies
concerning energy, wetlands, water rights and environmental enforcement,
to trial court and appellate proceedings in state and federal courts.
"It's very exciting for me to join Marten Law - a growing firm that is
entirely focused on environmental and energy issues," said Allan. "The
firm has a roster of experienced and well-known environmental and energy
lawyers that few firms can match. "
