BRIEF: Two men arrested in connection with Oxnard robberies
Feb 01, 2013 (Ventura County Star - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
Two men were arrested in connection with a string of Oxnard robberies, Oxnard Police Department officials said Friday.
Police said they started getting calls at about 9 p.m. Thursday about four separate robberies throughout the city. In each incident, the suspects drove an older model green 1996 Dodge Caravan, officials said.
By midnight, police spotted a van that fit the description of the robberies parked in the north alley of the 1300 block of Althea Court. Two men who were inside the van also fit the description of the robbery suspects, according to officials.
Both men were found to possess stolen property, police said. The property matched the items stolen from thefts reported earlier that night.
Johnny Jimenez, 18, and Ezequiel Mendez, 21, were arrested and booked on suspicion of multiple robberies.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Detective Jaime Miranda at 385-7665.
