Former Juniper M2M Strategist Godfrey Chua Joins Infonetics to Launch M2M and Connected World Research
CAMPBELL, Calif. --(Business Wire)--
Market research firm Infonetics
Research today announced the addition of both a new research program
and a new analyst, Godfrey
Chua.

Chua,
formerly of network equipment manufacturer Juniper Networks and market
research firms IDC, IHS (News - Alert)/Emerging Energy and Pyramid, joins Infonetics as
Directing Analyst, M2M and Connected World.
"Godfrey Chua is the missing piece that makes our market coverage
whole," says J'Amy
Stewart, CEO and co-founder of Infonetics
Research. "We already cover everything that machine-to-machine
infrastructure connects to: Home networks, mobile networks, mobile
devices, service delivery platforms. With Godfrey on board we're now
able to cover M2M and connected world networks, equipment, services,
vendors and providers - as well as how they intertwine with other
communications markets. Launching our coverage at this early stage when
M2M business models are just being figured out and understanding the
market from both the operator and enterprise point of view is key."
Ms.
Stewart adds: "Our clients and journalists will be happy to learn
that in addition to his extensive knowledge of and vision for the M2M
space, Godfrey fits the mold of a classic Infonetics analyst: He's
smart, pragmatic, accessible, understands the big picture, and is very
easy to work with."
Based in Silicon Valley, Chua
rounds out an international team of 31 industry, market and research
analysts at Infonetics Research (News - Alert), whose staff has increased 37% in the
past 16 months. In 2012, Infonetics opened an office in Shanghai, China,
to ultivate its rapidly-expanding Asia business (up 40% in 2012), and
recently moved its Greater London location to a new office.
"The M2M and connected world markets represent the next generation of
opportunities for technology vendors and service providers across the
world," Chua
states. "With nearly every human being having some form of communication
device, machine-based infrastructure, connections, and services are the
critical next step in the evolution of their business models."
"I came to Infonetics because I love the collaborative team here, and as
a former client, I know how good the research is. Now I have a platform
for helping companies figure out how to maximize the return on their M2M
investments and where to focus their energy, be it in the smart grid,
connected home, connected car, connected health, transport or other M2M
verticals."

GODFREY CHUA BIO (http://www.infonetics.com/bios.asp id=gc)
Mobility expert Godfrey Chua joined Infonetics in February 2013,
bringing with him more than 15 years of experience as a technology
analyst, strategist, business developer, and marketer.
An influential thought leader, Chua has appeared on National Public
Radio, CNN Asia, and the Business News Network, and is regularly quoted
in the press, including The Wall Street Journal, Boston Globe,
Bloomberg Businessweek, and Network World.
As a global mobility, business development, and strategy specialist at
Juniper Networks (News - Alert), Chua was a member of the Advanced Technologies team,
focusing on machine-to-machine (M2M) and next-generation mobile core
technologies, and supporting the company's mobile backhaul and mobile
security go-to-market efforts. While at Juniper, he also performed
market analysis for M2M and next-gen mobile business models.
Previously, Chua was the lead global analyst for IDC's (News - Alert) wireless and
mobile infrastructure program. He was also the founding analyst for
Emerging Energy Research (acquired by IHS in 2010), and was one of the
first analysts to cover the wind power industry. Prior to that, Chua led
Pyramid Research's telecommunications research and operations in Asia.
He began his career examining automotive supply chain strategies as a
research associate at the Center for Regional Economic Issues at Case
Western Reserve University.
As Directing Analyst for M2M and Connected World at Infonetics Research,
Chua now leads Infonetics' new coverage of M2M-enabling technologies and
network architectures - a.k.a. the Internet of Things. Specifically, he
tracks the fast-growing connected home (security, entertainment, social,
productivity), connected car, connected health (mHealth, healthcare),
smart grid (utility), and transport (asset management) vertical
segments. In this role, he authors market share and forecast reports,
surveys, and opinion pieces on the M2M and connected world technologies,
services, trends, industry players, business models, and best practices
that are driving investment in the market.
Chua also advises clients on positioning, product development, strategy,
partnerships, and business planning to help identify new market
opportunities and create differentiated products and services.
A published food writer and former restaurant critic for Boston Event
Guide magazine, Chua is fluent in Tagalog and is a huge sports
enthusiast, playing basketball, running, and cycling whenever he gets
the chance. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Oberlin
College in Ohio.
