Thompson Hine Lawyer Named to LMG CleanTech 100

Thompson Hine LLP is pleased to announce Michael J. Zimmer has been named to the CleanTech 100 in the inaugural edition of LMG Clean Technology & Renewable Energy, published by the Legal Media Group in association with Euromoney Institutional Investor. Zimmer is recognized in two areas - regulatory and finance/transactional. He is one of only 13 attorneys recognized in both these areas.

The CleanTech 100 consists of the top 100 clean technology and renewable energ attorneys practicing in the industry today. These practitioners were consistently recommended by their colleagues and clients as reputable and effective attorneys who are constantly involved with the industry.

The publication quotes Zimmer in its article regarding the development of the industry. "Carbon management may be the next big thing," he said. Zimmer specifically notes an increase in requests for services in energy management, energy efficiency contracting and finance for products, business operations and facilities.

Zimmer focuses his practice on natural gas and electricity regulation, energy issues, corporate matters, acquisitions and project finance transactions. He has been involved in mergers, acquisitions, construction and project financing assignments in the power generation, renewables, natural gas and electric, cogeneration and independent power, energy and emissions trading, and manufacturing industries. These transactions have included acquisitions, debt restructuring or project financing for some of the largest undertakings in the United States in these industries, with a composite value exceeding $14 billion. Zimmer served as national co-chair of the American Bar Association Energy & Environmental Markets and Finance Committee for 2011-2012, which was recognized by the ABA as Section Committee of the Year in the fields of energy & environmental law. He also served as vice chair of the ABA Committee on Renewable and Distributed Energy Resources.
