Bell Mobility has launched new mobile, push e-mail service for smartphones that run Microsoft Windows Mobile. This includes the HTC Touch, 5800, 6800, Motorola (News - Alert) Q and Palm 700wx, as well as select Bell Mobility phones.

 

Mobile e-mail is included with any data rate plan for smartphones, which start at $15 per month, and is also available on select phones for as little as $8 per month. The service features advanced security tools, including the ability to remotely lock the device or wipe all personal information in the event of loss or theft. It also has the capability to restore all personal information, if necessary.

 

The service also offers full personal information management (PIM) capabilities such as calendar, contacts, tasks and notes.

 

"Our new Mobile email service delivers a rich and robust email experience that's comparable in functionality to that of a desktop email service," said Adel Bazerghi, Vice President - Products for Bell Mobility, in a statement. "This service allows our clients to enjoy virtual real-time email communication on a variety of smartphones and phones, and using the email provider of their choice."

 

Mobile e-mail can also accommodate one business and up to three personal accounts. The service includes a hosted consumer and small business offering, compatible with e-mail platforms such as Sympatico and Gmail.

 

As well, there is an easy-to-implement, behind-the-firewall service for enterprise clients that runs on server-based systems like MS Exchange, Lotus Domino and Novell (News - Alert) GroupWise and that features triple AES 128-bit security.
