Call Genie Inc. has announced that it entered into a multi-year contract with La Gran Guia S.A., a Chilean Yellow Pages publisher owned by El Mercurio S.A.P. and VTR GlobalCom S.A.

 

El Mercurio S.A.P. operates a network of 19 regional newspapers and 32 radio stations across Chile. At the same time, VTR GlobalCom S.A. is Chile's largest provider of broadband Internet access.

The latter partner controls a significant portion of the cable television market, and is the second largest provider of residential telephone service in Chile. With the powerful positions held by both El Mercurio S.A.P. and VTR GlobalCom S.A. and the strong growth for mobile search, this agreement is expected to be significantly promising for Call Genie (News - Alert).

To commercialize a mobile local search and advertising solution for La Gran Guia, Call Genie will be utilizing a comprehensive suite of its products. The multi-year contract is based primarily on a revenue share agreement, but also includes upfront implementation fees, transactional fees and hosting fees.

 

The company anticipates that the solution will be commercialized in phases over the course of 2009 and into 2010. This controlled integration will help to drive strong demand and is expected to better position the partnership for further extensions.
