Cell phones for kids? No kidding.
kajeet, a cell phone service targeted at this segment was awarded the
PTPA Media (Parent Tested Parent Approval) Seal as a winner in their 2008 Fall Product Call for best in parenting products.
This win follows closely on the heels of another award. In September,
kajeet was presented with the top
Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) service innovation award at the Global Telecoms Business Innovation Awards in London, England.

kajeet was among many entries competing to win this year’s top honors. Companies throughout North America submitted their parenting products and they were matched with PTPA Media's large database of parents.
The products were tested by savvy parenting reviewers and professionals/ Value, functionality, quality and appeal of the product are some of the parameters used for selecting the winner.

Founded in 2003, kajeet is based in Bethesda, MD and produces cell phones equipped with online parental controls and kid-friendly features, and with no contracts and no surprise bills.
Some useful features are that parents can set budgets, allocate periods of time the phone cannot be used, and set the phone to receive the calls and texts they want (and block the ones they don't).

The
