Vivint, one of the nation’s largest home automation companies, has appointed Richard Guerra as vice president of operations for Smart Grid Solutions division.
In his new role, Guerra will be responsible for developing strategy and logistics for the division’s Advanced Metering Infrastructure and Advanced Grid Infrastructure.
With more than 30 years of experience in the utility industry and a degree in electrical engineering technology, Guerra will be able to help Vivint in meeting its goals.
Working as the VP of operations, he will also be charged with establishing a training center for the mass deployment of electric, water and gas smart metering devices, including: AMI LAN and WAN networks, home area networks, home security systems, load control devices and AGI nodes.
He will also be responsible for developing relationships with AMI & AGI vendors and developing innovative approaches for the mass deployment of Smart Grid Infrastructure
Prior to joining Vivint, he was director of field services for Elster Solutions, one of the leading vendors of AMI and SmartGrid technology. He has also served as manager of field services for Hunt Power, where he developed and managed a technical support program for commercial and industrial energy users.
While at Hunt Power, he worked on an initiative in Mexico to develop strategies to deploy sub-metering solutions to large industrial customers throughout the country.
