Comverge, Inc recently announced that its IntelliPEAK 910 digital control unit (DCU) has been designed to provide automated dynamic pricing program support, stating that IntelliPEAK 910 makes it possible for users to schedule dynamic pricing events via the IntelliSOURCE Web portal. Utilities will now be able to use IntelliPEAK 910 to address peak demands by including client participation in time-of-use and in critical peak pricing programs.
Designed as an enterprise-class software platform and operating environment, the IntelliSOURCE 2.0 from Comverge helps in the management of IntelliPEAK 910 over a two-way network which supports the reduction of energy demands.
In a release, R. Blake Young, president and chief executive officer, Comverge, said, "As the smart grid continues to develop, dynamic pricing programs are receiving increasing interest as an effective means to manage expensive peak demand. IntelliPEAK 910 enables utilities to easily automate the dynamic pricing process. By automating the process, utilities have a highly reliable source of capacity, unlike programs that use manual home energy management portals."
Technology-based automated dynamic pricing programs can help in effective management and control of peak demand instead of having to depend on the customer to incorporate manual adjustments for reducing demand. Leveraging the latest offering from Comverge, customers will now benefit from automated and optimized execution of dynamic pricing programs via the IntelliSOURCE 2.0.
IntelliPEAK 910 also supports individual control for up to four loads which means investment in hardware and installation is now reduced all through the duration of the program. A single IntelliPEAK 910 Digital Control Unit can be very effective in controlling devices installed with HVAC as well as water heater programs. Furthermore, the new offering also enables individual control of each of the devices via a set of separate commands. Both devices can also be controlled by using a single command.
