Greenvity, a provider of solutions that can transform the smart energy management and Home Area Network (HAN) markets, has licensed the Palmchip’s AcurX Smart Grid platform.
The AcurX platform is stated to be implemented in Greenvity’ smart energy and Home Area Network (HAN) based solutions.
Greenvity explained that it develops and produces the Powerline Communications (PLC) technology for smart grid, energy-efficient appliances, home gateways, electric vehicles and other green-tech products. The technology is capable of making electronic devices smarter and more energy efficient and interoperable with the installed base of powerline products. The technology is also compatible with HomePlug (News - Alert) Green PHY specifications.
The AcurX Smart Grid platform will now be integrated into Greenvity solutions for them to acquire the programming capability and security engine to differentiate them in the smart energy market. Palmchip will the embedded processor in future smart meter, home energy management gateway and appliances from Greenvity.
Palmchip claimed that its AcurX platform technology is at the heart of millions of SoC designs spanning from the high end communication systems, to consumer, industrial and automotive products, to low power hand held design, to smart cards. Its multitude of platforms address the various design points in the SoC market from low end microcontrollers to multicore CPU designs, where each platform has been optimized for its target market.
Greenvity asserted that it is developing robust connectivity solutions for the growing number of electronics and appliances found in homes. The performance, low power and small area of Palmchip's embedded processors met its overall system needs and will help Greenvity bring total solutions to market that allow consumers to optimize their energy consumption through efficient control and automation of devices connected to their home gateways.
Officials with Palmchip ascertained that they are pleased to provide a low cost and ultralow power platform to Greenvity. They believe that their technology will add value to Greenvity's power-efficient smart energy management based solutions.
