HomeGrid Forum promotes adoption of G.hn and G.hnem standardization of home networking and smartgrid applications. The addition of four new members from across the globle.underscored the growing global support for G.hn.
John Egan, Vice President of HomeGrid Forum, said in a press release, "Our continuously expanding membership now encompasses every facet of expertise in the home networking environment, from research and development to manufacture, testing and deployment."
The forum claims that the new enrollments comes in the wake of news that silicon vendors Metanoia and Xingtera have also joined the move to G.hn. Other recent recruits such as AT&T (News
- Alert) and TRaC Global have also joined the G.hn movement.
Taiwan-based Allion Test Labs and MitraStar, Kwangwoon University ,South Korea, and Holland Electronics LLC ,USA, which have joined the G.hn bandwagon, highlight the HomeGrid Forum's exciting growth in the Asia-Pacific region.
Their entrance is rather significant as it demonstrates the increasing global recognition of G.hn as the signle unified standard for wired home networking.
The HomeGrid Forum effectively addresses certification and interoperability of G.hn and G.hnem-compliant products, and works with other complementary ndustry alliances.As a result, service providers are able to give consumers the advantage of advanced services.
In addition Consumer electronic manufacturers can also provide HomeGrid certified devices for services that range from entertainment to automation and home security.
Egan emphasized the significance of the addition of new members and said, “Even more rewarding is the indication -- with these new members -- of the growing global acceptance and support of G.hn and HomeGrid Forum as it realizes two major milestones this year -- shipping chipsets and certifying products -- with mass market deployment of HomeGrid Forum Certified G.hn products expected early 2012."
