Version 2.1 of the Trimble (News
- Alert) Field Inspector has been released by Trimble. Utility infrastructure and smart grid asset maintenance and inspection have been automated in the new version. The latest version is compatible with a variety of Trimble handheld computers. The scalable and easy to deploy solution comprises of the Trimble Field Inspector software for handhelds and Trimble Field Inspector Desktop software. A wide variety of field applications in electric, gas, water, and wastewater utilities ranging from smart meter deployments to critical asset maintenance inspections will find Trimble Field Inspector ideal for use.
New functionality for a variety of field inspection and maintenance activities has been included in Trimble Field Inspector version 2.1. The latest version supports Trimble GeoExplorer 3000 and 6000, Esri ArcGIS 10.0 and Oracle (News
- Alert) 10g and 11g. Other functionalities included in the new version are a new barcode scan wizard and a calculated fields wizard. Support for French, Spanish and Chinese languages is also provided.
A robust GNSS-enabled mobile solution for optimizing smart grid and utility field operations is provided by Trimble Field Inspector software for handhelds. This includes asset installation, maintenance and inspection.
Utility field workers are able to capture GNSS time and location information while using Trimble mapping and GIS handheld devices with the software. 1D and 2D barcode data, digital images, digital sketches and electronic signatures can be also captured with the software. Jobs can be routed; and workers and assets can be located with the GNSS data. A valuable validation of where and when work is performed to support regulatory reporting can be also provided.
The Trimble Field Inspector software can help in streamlining operations while performing electric, gas, water, or wastewater maintenance inspection tasks. The software provides automated field workflows and easy-to-use smart handheld data collection forms. A map display is used by the software to view jobs and assets interactively. Users can quickly and easily locate and identify job assignments and priorities through a single listing of all jobs and their status.
