At the recent IPSO Alliance press reception held at the Santa Clara TechMart, the company announced that it has successfully demonstrated its new Smart Objects networking platform. The new platform has the ability to instill just about any object that has IP-based communication abilities, which enable a broad range of new applications in industries such as Smart metering, Environmental Monitoring, Healthcare Monitoring, Smart lighting, Industrial Automation and Building Automation.

Some of the highlights of the Nivis Smart Object Networking Platform are: its ability to enable effortless integration with global sensing and control; platforms that utilize Representational State Transfer (REST); lowering infrastructure costs with up to 4,000 endpoints per edge router; utilizing NIST-recommended IPSec security; employing proven standards such as IPv6, RoLL/RPL, 6LoWPAN, 802.15.4e, 802.15.4g, SNMP, and also increasing reliability of communications through path redundancy.
The Nivis Smart Objects networking platform will be available to the market during the first quarter of 2012. Some of the components of the Nivis Smart Object Platform include Communications Stack, Edge Router Hardware, Network Management Software, Software API libraries, RF Modules and a Development Kit.
