Alert) announced a new set of IT security consulting services targeted at the energy market, which stems from a previous event and compliance requirements that Arnold said triggered the Verizon announcement.
On Wednesday, Progress Solar Solutions, LLC, a solar provider specializing in cost-effective,
environmentally friendly solar street, parking and area lighting,
announced that the company will now be the sole provider of a solar product that offers long-life induction lighting durable for any environment.
Solar Street Lights, USA, now exclusively provided by Progress Solar, can withstand military and government conditions and can also power through commercial and industrial applications.
Additionally, Honeywell (

Alert) was
awarded an $11.4 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy as part of the largest single energy-grid modernization investment in U.S. history. The grant is one of several awarded from a smart-grid funding package under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
On Thursday, Comverge, a provider of smart grid, demand management and energy efficiency solutions,
announced the latest version of their first generation demand response management system, Apollo Version 1.2.
The company’s Apollo gives utilities the flexibility to fully realize the benefits of the smart grid at their own pace and based on their own unique needs, company officials said.
Version 1.2 is a more extensive and feature-rich demand response platform for utilities and their customers, say Comverge officials. It empowers them to better understand their energy usage, control costs and promote grid reliability.
