The Demand Response and Smart Grid Coalition, or
DRSG, reportedly
announced that six companies have joined the trade association and will support its efforts aimed at developing markets for smart grid technologies and smart grid practices like demand response.

Alert) USA, Electrolux, Control14, Home Grid Forum, Midas Medici Group Holdings, Inc and CABA.
“The growth in DRSG membership reflects the growing market for smart grid technologies and the increasing interest in how to provide the technologies, as well as demand response and other smart-grid practices, to utilities and consumers,” said Dan Delurey, executive director of the trade association. “Their expertise and experience is a welcome addition to the DRSG, and we look forward to having them as part of our organization.”
LG Electronics USA, Inc. is based in New Jersey and is a subsidiary of LG Electronics, Inc. specializing in home appliances, consumer electronics and mobile communications. In the USA LG sells innovative home appliances, home entertainment products, mobile phones and business solutions. Electrolux is also a home appliances company. It also makes appliances for professional use focusing on innovations that are designed based on consumer requirements.
The other new member to the DRSG, Control14 promotes a connected home and home automation products. Control14 Energy Systems an operating division of Control14 develops and delivers innovative home area network or HAN solutions for utilities, advanced metering infrastructure vendors and service providers for promoting the proper management of energy use by home owners.
Midas Medici also joined the DRSG and its subsidiary Utilipoint International provides research and advisory services for the energy sector. The company offers guidance in diverse fields such as utility generation, transmission and distribution, retail markets, mergers and acquisitions and others.
HomeGrid Forum promotes the International Telecommunication Union’s G.hn standardization efforts for next-generation home networking. The Forum promotes adoption of G.hn by marketing and technical efforts, caters to needs of certification and interoperability of G.hn-compliant products.
CABA or Continental Automated Buildings Association promotes advanced technologies in buildings and homes in North America. The organization supports design, manufacture, installation and retailing of products required in home automation and building automation.
Delurey said that in joining DRSG, these companies will also have the opportunity to be a part of the
Smart Green Grid Initiative or SGGI, a new effort recently initiated to demonstrate the significant role that the smart grid will have in the achievement of climate change goals.
