According to the Solar Energies Industries Association, there was an increase in the overall solar capacity. The increase was indicated to be 37 percent in 2009. This increase resulted in a 36 percent increase in solar industry revenue, which reached $4 billion. The growth is expected to continue in the year 2010.

Renewable sources of energy are fast replacing the ones in current use, and solar energy is indicated to be the cleanest and most abundant renewable energy source available. Kalahari Greentech designs, produces and provides wind turbines, solar collectors and other sustainable energy technologies.

According to the U.S. Department of Energy's news release dated March 25, 2009, entitled, 'Solar Energy Grew at a Record Pace in 2008,' the deployment of solar energy has increased tremendously in the United States and in the world in 2008.

Apart from the increase in revenue, the solar industry decreased unemployment by offering 17,000 new jobs in 2009. The U.S. ranked fourth in new solar electric capacity in 2009, behind Germany, Italy and Japan. This information was provided by the Solar Energies Industries Association.

Kalahari's combination Thermal-Voltaic Solar Collector has proved to be a cost-effective unit. This is because it has a Tri-Brid system, meaning that all the three functions are integrated simultaneously and the whole set up performs as a single unit.

This is an energy company focused on developing, constructing and operating wind and solar energy projects, either on its own or in partnership with other energy companies. The company's main focus is to seek out opportunities to utilize its technology to develop renewable energy sources.

In a related news release by abcnews.com, Kalahari Greentech, Inc. released a statement introducing its cutting-edge wind and solar technologies. Nearly $2 billion in money from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act has been spent on wind power, funding the creation of enough new wind farms to power 2.4 million homes over the past year.
