Private housing landlord Vilogia Horizon in Angouleme has awarded a public tender to BPL Global Ltd. or BPLG. 33 buildings with more than 1,000 apartments will be provided improved energy efficiency by BPLG, a smart grid technology company.
The landlords will gain from the reduced energy consumption for the buildings. Tenants will also save money on their utility bills. Carbon emissions will be reduced, benefitting all. There will also be an improved environmental impact.
The EasyGreen solution can remotely monitor and affect consumer level energy consumption in near real-time from the building level down to the individual apartment level. Hence this solution was selected over other products. Using BPLG’s EasyGreen solution, housing authorities and facilities managers have been able to realize up to 10% cost savings in other deployments.
In a release, Alain Cécillon, Md., Vilogia Horizon said, “Our commitment to a cleaner environment and helping tenants save on their utility costs led us to select BPLG’s EasyGreen solution. We are excited to replicate their proven success in improving energy efficiency of apartment buildings. BPLG’s technology will help us comply with our regional energy efficiency plan and cost effectively meet our goals.”
A unique opportunity to increase building efficiency is offered by BPLG to facility managers, building owners and Energy Service Companies. They can also cut costs and reduce carbon emissions. A complete facilities energy monitoring and management system is provided by BPLG’s EasyGreen solution. Effective, integrated management of electricity, thermal energy, and water services is enabled with this solution. A web-based user interface is also provided by the solution. This interface is accessible from any internet connected computer. Real-time visibility into energy use is gained by facility managers and building occupants through this portal.
In a release, Keith Schaefer, CEO, BPL Global said, “Europe is leading the green transformation and cities like Angouleme are recognizing the benefits and adopting leading energy efficiency technologies. Solutions refined in Angouleme can be leveraged to nearly 300 million households in apartment buildings across Europe and China. Visibility at both the user and facilities management levels mobilize action to save energy, save money and save the environment. BPLG is providing the tools that make it easy to do so.”
